As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times and safety margins, plus shorten your surface intervals - so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge whilst learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen.

Are you ready to become a deep diver and explore deeper wrecks, coral-encrusted walls, reefs and more? Many exciting dive sites lie in deep waters and the SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you how to get there – safely and with confidence. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 60 & 120 feet, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You will learn how to identify stress, how to prevent accidents and be taught practical techniques to conduct rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of pool and open water practice sessions, you will become well prepared and confident at handling emergency and rescue situations.
*You must hold a current
1st aid/CPR/O2 Provider certification in order to complete the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Corse.

Search and recovery can be challenging, but a whole lot of fun.

In this specialty program, you will gain the advanced skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater. This program allows limited penetration within the daylight zone into wrecks with an overhead environment. The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving specialty will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to safely perform limited penetration of a wreck.

Join the SSI Night Diving and Limited Visibility specialty program and you will learn all you need to dive safely at night or in limited visibility. React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course and provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. You will learn primary assessment, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You will also learn about oxygen administration in diving emergencies and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) basics.
*React Right will fulfill the 1st aid/CPR/O2 Provider
Requirement for the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Course and most other agency Rescue Diver Courses.

With proper training, equipment and the right attitude to accept the risks involved in independent diving, an experience diver can responsibly engage in dives without a buddy. Independent diving is an adventure activity that is not for everyone, but does have its place. If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you'll bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone, in a dive pair or as part of a team. You need to be a Advanced Open Water Diver who is at least 18 years old and has 100 logged dives to enroll in the Independent Diver course. You'll also complete a skills assessment with your Instructor before diving into the course.
